Summary
This project includes a Phase II expansion/separate structure to house Engineering and Biotech facilities, immediately adjacent to and linked with the existing Biotech/Science/Engineering Building (BSE). Ground floor includes (5) large classrooms, a teaching laboratory, Lab Animal Resources and support spaces. The first floor is Biomedical Engineering, the second floor is Electrical Engineering/Civil & Environmental Engineering and the third floor is Physics & Astronomy. Each floor (first thru third) includes associated laboratories, faculty/post-grad/postdoctoral offices and support spaces.
Spaces Provided
Ground floor classrooms (seminar, studio style, standard style, computer supported), teaching lab, pump room, building electrical rooms, loading dock, hydrology & animal science rooms, 2 fire stairs, 3 elevator cabinets, accessible public restrooms; +/- 32,000 SF Biomedical engineering facilities (research laboratories, lab support spaces, faculty offices, conference rooms, post-grad offices, post-doc offices, break room, collaboration areas & administration support areas):

Limestone block (2 different colors), saw-cut running bond at lower portion of elevations with saw-cut stacked bond above that, inset band of stucco below roof and double-pane tinted low-e insulated glass; Façade (E) - limestone block, saw-cut running bond at lower portion of elevations with stucco above that, inset band of stucco below roof and doublepane tinted low-e insulated glass; Clay tile roof; Plaza at the North side of the new building (adjacent to Bio-Science Bldg rotunda) of unit pavers; 1st Floor aluminum sun control canopies at South & West elevations; Deck/Canopy joining the new building to the existing Paseo adjacent to the BSE on the East side.
