MB Air Handler Units Shut Down July 28 and 29

Air handler units located in the MB will be shut down between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 and Sunday, July 29, 2018 for maintenance.  Work will not affect weekend operations as only one unit at a time will be shut down.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


AET Air Handler Units Shut Down July 28 and 29

Key Circle: Closed July 23 and 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Key Circle, to include the Key Circle Lot (KLT), will be closed on Monday, July 23 and Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day.  The closure is to accommodate the delivery of two (60-foot) trusses for the Paseo del Sur bridge/elevated walkway.  Students, faculty, staff, and visitors will not be able to use Key Circle as a drop-off location during the closure and will need to enter the ART Building through alternate entrances.  For additional information, please refer to the attached diagram or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

BSB Air Handlers Units 75A and 75B Shut Down July 19

Air handler units 75A and 75B that service the first floor of the BSB will be shut down from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, for repairs to the VAV box.  During the outage, there will be limited ventilation, comfort heating and air conditioning available to this area of the building.  Temporary fans will be set up in the hallway for the duration of the work.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


UTPD Parking Lot – Crane Requiring NTEP Access on July 14

A crane and supporting vehicles requiring access to the NTEP roof will be set up in the UTSA Police Department (compound) parking lot between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, as part of the NTEP boiler replacement project.  Flaggers will be utilized as needed to assist with traffic on Brenan Avenue.  For additional information including impact to parking, please reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

MB – Installation of New/Upgraded Fire Alarm Sprinkler Heads July 21

Work to install new and upgraded fire alarms sprinkler heads near the west entrance (1st & 2nd floors) of the MB is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, 2018, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  For additional information, please reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

FLN – AHU #11 Shut Down June 30

Air handler unit #11 that services the FLN will be shut down on Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. for fire alarm upgrades.  For more information, please, reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

TEP Parking Lot Closed June 29 – 30

A crane will be set up in the TEP parking lot on Saturday, June 30, 2018, to assist with the delivery of the new North Thermal Energy Plant (NTEP) boiler.  The TEP parking lot will close at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 and reopen at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018.  The OIT slots located on the northeast corner of the parking lot will remain open but may have restricted access during set up and demobilization of the crane.  For additional information, please contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


Water to the MBT Shut Down July 10

Modified Notification 7/10/18 – the following work was cancelled due to weather conditions and has been rescheduled.  Water service to the MBT will be shut down today, July 10, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Water service to the MBT will be shut down on Monday, July 9, 2018, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for utility modifications.  Service will be restored by no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 9th.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 

 

 


5K race closes Main Campus streets on June 23

(June 22, 2018) — On Saturday, June 23, six road closures on the UTSA Main Campus will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the District 8 80s 5K event.

The campus entrance/exits at Peace Blvd., Bauerle Rd. and Tobin Ave. from Brenan St. to the Peace Circle will be closed. All race/run/walk participants should enter campus at the Valero Way entrance.

Parking for the race will be at the East Campus Lots near the start/finish line. Campus streets and intersections that are part of the race route will be closed on Saturday, June 23 from 7:30 a.m. until approximately 9:30 a.m.

VIA riders are advised that VIA buses will continue to operate on campus, however passenger pickups and drop offs may be delayed during the event.


UTSA Campuses: Required Elevator Inspections Scheduled for July 9 – July 20

Elevators located throughout the UTSA Main, Downtown and HemisFair campuses will be shut down one at a time for State of Texas required inspections, between July 9, 2018 and July 20, 2018.  The five-year safety inspection of the JPL elevators will be performed on July 12, 2018.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

West Campus Road Closed in Front of the CRW June 20 – 29

SAWS Announces Stage 2 Drought Restrictions

The City of San Antonio is now in stage 2 drought restrictions according to the San Antonio Water System (SAWS).  Stage 2 restrictions begin when the 10-day rolling average of the Edwards Aquifer level reaches 650 feet mean sea level at the monitored well.

In support of water conservation and environmental stewardship, UTSA campuses will water only on Mondays between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.  SAWS granted variances also permit the university to power wash, operate the Sombrilla Fountain and water special use areas that include athletic and sports fields.

Pest Control Treatment in Service Drive below MH – Tonight June 12

Outdoor pest control services in the service drive below the MH is scheduled for tonight, June 12, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The treatment, with the exception of a slight odor, will not affect building occupants.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


RWC – Domestic Hot Water Outage June 15

Domestic hot water service to the RWC will be shut down from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, for repairs to the hot water boiler.   During the shutdown, there will be no hot water available for use in showers and sinks throughout the building including the offices of Student Health Services and Counseling Services.  For Additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


Portion of MBT Parking Lot & 4 Parking Spaces Closed for Trenching July 2 – July 31

Update 6/22/18:  A portion of Barshop Boulevard Lot 2 (BS2), 3 parking spaces and an Accessible-parking slot in front of the MBT will be closed from July 2, 2018 until July 31, 2018 for utility trench work related to the new Large Scale Structural Testing Facility.  For more project information, or to view the temporary pedestrian path to/from the MBT and the closest ADA path from alternate Accessible parking near the SRL please, reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

West Campus: Natural Gas Shut Down for Required Testing June 30

Natural gas to the following West Campus buildings will be shut down for testing, as mandated by the Texas State Fire Marshal, from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018.  The shutdown will affect hot water boilers, gas fired equipment, emergency generators and lab equipment utilizing natural gas.  Only natural gas will be impacted.  No other utilities will be affected.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.
