Facilities iService Desk Shut Down for Maintenance on Dec 20th

The Facilities iService Desk will be shut down for one hour, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., on December 20, 2017 for upgrades.  To request service during the outage, please contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262 or by email at FacilitiesServiceCenter@utsa.edu.

 


Main Campus Elevators Shut Down for Maintenance between Dec 26th and 29th

Elevator #3 in the ART, #1 in the BRG, #2 in the FLN and elevators #1 and #2 in the MH will be shut down for required maintenance between December 26, 2017 and December 29, 2017.  The outages are not expected to impact daily operations as only one elevator at a time will be shutdown.  All other elevators located in these buildings will remain operational and available for use.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


UCII Emergency Repairs – Steam Outage December 14th

Steam service to the UCII is shut down today, Thursday, December 14, 2017 for emergency leak repairs.  During the outage there will be no comfort heating and hot water available to this area of the UC (UCII only).  A follow up email will be sent once repairs have been completed.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


NPB – Maintenance of Fan Powered Air Conditioning Boxes Scheduled for Dec 27th – 29th

Inspection maintenance of the fan powered air conditioning boxes that service all floors of the NPB are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 and go through Friday, December, 29, 2017.   The work will be performed each day between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  The inspections will not affect comfort cooling or air supply to the building.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


CC – Water Shut Down on Dec 21st and 22nd for Construction

Water to the Convocation Center (CC) will be shut down from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. on December 21, 2017 and December 22, 2017 for construction related work that includes replacing the isolation valves.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


FLN: Air Handler Unit #10 Shut Down from Dec 16th – Jan 5th

Air handler unit #10 that services floors one through four of the FLN will be shut down from December 16, 2017 until January 5, 2018 as part of a refurbishing project that includes replacing the cooling elements and installation.   The crushed granite area located between the FLN and MS will also be partially closed off during this time for use as a staging area for the project material and equipment.  For additional information please reference the attached drawing or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

Facilities Seeks Feedback from UTSA Community

The Office of Facilities invites the UTSA community to take a customer satisfaction survey.  The survey will run until December 22, 2017 and will measure how well Facilities performs in areas such as building maintenance, custodial services, events support, and grounds maintenance.  Facilities will use the survey responses to evaluate our processes and services.  Your candid feedback is vital for us to improve our support to the university.  This survey should only take 4-5 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous.

RO/DI Systems Shut Down for Annual Sanitation

The reverse osmosis (RO) and deionized water (DI) systems that service the AET, BSB, BSE, FLN, MBT and SRL will be shut down as indicated on the schedule below for annual sanitation.  The RO and DI systems will not be available for use during the outages.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

BSE – Renovation of 2.304-1 to Begin Nov 30th

The renovation of BSE 2.304-1 is scheduled to begin on November 30, 2017. To prepare the area cabinets and miscellaneous items currently stored in the room will be removed and taken to Surplus on Nov 30th. For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


SEB Project: Tower Crane to be delivered on Nov 28th

A tower crane will be delivered and set up at the new SEB project site between 7:00 a.m. on November 28, 2017 and 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2017. Delivery trucks may impact morning traffic on Bauerle Road, off of UTSA Boulevard and Key Circle, on Tuesday November 28th. FLN Exhaust Fans Shut Down for Maintenance Dec 2nd an 3rd

Exhaust fans #2, 4, 8, 11, 17, 18, 19N, 19S, 22, 23W, 24, 25, 36, 37, 38, 41, 42, 43, 51, 52, 53, 54, 57 and 105 that service the FLN fume hoods will be shut down between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on December 2, 2017 and December 3, 2107 for maintenance.   For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


TEP Lot: Closed for NTEP Boiler Project Nov 17th – 18th

The TEP Lot, located adjacent of the North Thermal Energy Plant (NTEP), will be shut down from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 to allow service and equipment vehicles access to the plant.   The OIT slots located on the northeast corner of the lot will remain open and available for use – heavy traffic in and around these slots may cause access delays.    All other slots will be closed.  A notice will be posted at the entrance/exit of the lot prior to closing.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


MBT: Air Handler Unit Scheduled for Shut Down on Nov 18th

Air handler unit #1 that services the MBT will be shut down on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for repairs.  The shutdown may cause a temporary reduction in air flow throughout the lab but will not affect the BSL3.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


Rescheduled Partial Road Closure: Ximenes Avenue at Ford Avenue and Brackenridge Avenue

 

The following partial road closure has been rescheduled from Saturday, November 4, 2017 to Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Work will begin at manhole #1 and conclude at manhole #3 – reference attached drawing. 

Ximenes Avenue will be shut down to one lane, in each direction, between Ford Avenue and Brackenridge Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 for work related to the new intersection at Ximenes Avenue and UTSA Boulevard.  Work includes pulling data cables from the EB to the intersection through manholes located between Ford Avenue and Brackenridge Avenue.  Flaggers will be posted at each manhole to assist with traffic in and around the work areas. BSB: Air Handlers Shut Down for Maintenance Nov 18th and 19th

Air-handler units that service the Vivarium and the first, second and third floors of the BSB (excludes the BLS3) are scheduled to be shut for preventive maintenance on Nov 18th and 19th.  Air handlers #75 and 76 will be shut down between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 and air handler units #77 and 78 will be shut down between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017.  The outages are not expected to impact comfort cooling as only one unit at a time will be shut down.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


ART – Air Handler Units Shut Down for Maintenance Nov 11th and 12th

Air handler units #16, 48, 49 and 50 that service all floors of the ART will be shut down from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 and Sunday, November 12, 2017, for preventive maintenance.  The outages are not expected to impact Saturday’s events as only one unit at a time will be shut down and work in the recital hall has been scheduled for Sunday, Nov 12th.    For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


CC: Water Outages Scheduled for Nov 13th and 14th

The following has been revised.  Water service to the Convocation Center (CC) will be shut down from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 and Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

Water service to the Convocation Center (CC) will be shut down from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 and Tuesday, November 14, 2017 for repairs.  Water will be restored each day by 11:00 a.m. For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


NTEP: Boiler to be Removed from Roof on Nov 4th

Boiler stack #1 is scheduled to be removed from the NTEP roof on Saturday, November 4, 2017.  Work includes closing off twenty parking spaces and setting up a crane in the UTSA PD and Facilities Operations parking lot between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Flaggers will be utilized, as necessary, to assist with traffic near the work area and Brenan Road.  For additional information please reference the attached drawing or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

NTEP to Shut down Boilers and Steam Supply on Nov 4th

The North Thermal Energy Plant (NTEP) will shut down boilers and steam supply to the  ART, BB, BOS, BSB, BSE, CC, EB, FLN, JPL, Main, MH, MS, PE, RWC and UC from 12:01 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on November 4, 2017 for leak repairs and boiler upgrades.  The outage will affect comfort heating (except BSE), domestic hot water for dishwashing, washing machines, showers, cage washers and autoclaves.  Steam service to these buildings will be restored immediately following completion of work on Nov 4th.    For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


MS/FLN – Staging Area for Project Material and Equipment

A portion of the crushed granite area between the FLN and the MS buildings will be closed off from October 30, 2017 to November 30, 2017 for use in the Fire Hydrant Replacement project. Approximately 400 square feet of this space will be used for staging project material and equipment.
