BOS – Water Outage Jan 22

Water service to the Bosque Building (BOS) will be shut down between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, for installation of a new second floor (BOS 2.012) breakroom sink.  The service will be restored immediately following completion of the work or by no later than 9:30 a.m. on Jan 22.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


BK5 and West Campus Road Asphalt Repairs Jan 17 – 20

A portion of the asphalt located between the University Oaks and Brackenridge Avenue Lot 5 (BK5) and on West Campus Road in front of the Central Receiving Warehouse (CRW) will be repaired between January 17, 2020 and January 20, 2020.  Work will affect the west side exit gate of the University Oaks, BK5 south side parking lot roadway heading north toward the Child Development Center (CDC), and the front parking and loading dock of the CRW.  For additional information, reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

Emergency Water Outage – Band Building, CC, IAB, RWC & Recreation Fields January 15

Water service to the Band Building, Convocation Center (CC), Intercollegiate Athletics Building (IAB), Recreation Wellness Center (RWC) including Student Health Services and the Recreation Fields is down today, January 15, 2020, for emergency water line repairs.   The outage will affect restrooms, showers, sinks, kitchens and any equipment that uses water.  A follow up email will be sent once repairs have been completed.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


NPB – Water Outage Jan 15

Cancelled Water Outage – Band Building, CC, IAB, RWC & Recreation Fields January 16

Update 1/15/20:  The following outage scheduled for tomorrow, January 16, 2020, has been cancelled.

Water service to the Band Building, Convocation Center (CC), Intercollegiate Athletics Building (IAB), Recreation Wellness Center (RWC) including Student Health Services and the Recreation Fields will be shut down from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020, for water line repairs.  The outage will affect restrooms, showers, sinks, kitchens and any equipment that uses water.  For additional information, reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

AET: Air Handler Maintenance Jan 18 – 19

Air handler units located in the Applied Engineering and Technology Building (AET) will be shut down between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 and Sunday, January 19, 2020, for routine maintenance. The outages are not expected to impact weekend operations as only one unit at a time will be shutdown. No other utilities such as electrical or exhaust fume hoods will be affected. Emergency Water Outage January 6, 2020, 5:30 P.M. – Majority of Campus Buildings

UPDATE:  Water was restored to all buildings listed in the notification below at 7:40 p.m. on January 6, 2020

Water to a large part of campus will be shut down this afternoon, Monday, January 6, 2020, at 5:30 p.m., for emergency repairs to a broken water line. The outage will affect restrooms, showers, sinks, kitchens and any equipment that uses water, in the following buildings.

AET, ART, BB, BLR, BRG, BSB, BSE, CC, EB, FLN, GSR, HSU, IAB, JPL, MB, MH, MS, NPB, RWC (to include Student Health), SLR, SU, STEP, XAG

We anticipate repairs to be completed by 10:00 p.m. A follow up email will be sent once repairs have been completed. For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

Water to the Baseball Locker Room Building (BLR), Convocation Center (CC), Intercollegiate Athletics Building (IAB), Intramural Field House (IFH), Recreation Wellness Center (RWC) including Student Health Services and the Softball Locker Room Building (SLR), will be shut down this afternoon, Monday, January 6, 2020, at 3:30 p.m., for emergency repairs.  The outage will affect restrooms, showers, sinks, kitchens and any equipment that uses water, in these buildings.  A follow up email will be sent once repairs have been completed.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


Main Campus Potholes Repaired Dec 26 – 30

Portion of Cook Road and Parking Spaces Closed Dec 16 – Jan 5

A portion of Cook Road and the parking spaces located across from the GSR on Cook Road will be closed from December 16, 2019 through January 5, 2020, for work related to the new Student Success Center project.   Work includes the relocation of the security gate and pulling of data lines from the communication manhole near the intersection of University Center Road and Cook Road.  For additional information, including the location of a temporary fire lane, deliveries road and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pathway, reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

Main Campus Curbs Removed and Replaced Dec 20 – Feb 1

Curbs located in fifteen areas of the Main Campus will be cut, removed and replaced from December 20, 2019, through February 1, 2020.  The curbs will be cut between December 20 and 22, 2019, and removed and replaced in three sections between December 20, 2019 and February 1, 2020.  All work will be performed from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day and flaggers will be at each jobsite to assist with traffic.  For additional information, reference the attached drawing or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

Updated Notification: ART, FLN, JPL and MH Electrical Power Outages Jan 13 – 16

Notification update – The power outage times for the JPL have changed to:  8:30 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. on January 13 & 14

Normal electrical power to the Arts Building (ART), Flawn Building (FLN), John Peace Library (JPL) and Mckinney Humanities Building (MH), will be shut down as follows for replacement of the ground fault safety relay devices.

Service Drive (Tunnel) Closed Between MS and FLN on Dec 20

A portion of the Service Drive (tunnel), between the Multidisciplinary Studies Building (MS) and the Flawn Building (FLN), will be closed on December 20, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. for construction work related to installation of the new Tomas Rivera ramp.  During the closure, please use the west side of the MS first floor to access the temporary ramp that leads to the building’s east side first floor.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


RWC Water Outage for Emergency Repairs Dec 12

Water service to the Recreation Wellness Center (RWC) including the Student Health Services side will be shut down this morning, Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. for emergency repairs. Repairs are expected to take approximately four hours. A follow up email will be sent once repairs have been completed. Update 12/12/19: CC, IAB, RWC and SU Emergency Water Outage Dec 11

Update 12/12/19: Water service to the following buildings including the baseball and softball facilities was restored as of 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019.

(December 11, 2019) – UPDATE:  The water outage does not affect the Student Union.

(December 11, 2019) – Water to the Convocation Center (CC), Intercollegiate Athletics Building (IAB), Recreation Wellness Center (RWC) including Student Health Services and all UTSA Student Union (SU) buildings (does not affect the H-E-B Student Union) is being shut down this afternoon, Wednesday, December 11, 2019, for emergency repairs. The outage will affect restrooms, showers, sinks, kitchens and any equipment that uses water, in these buildings. A follow up email will be sent once repairs have been completed. Tennis Courts Closed for Construction Dec 12 – Jan 20

The tennis courts located on the Main Campus between Brenan Avenue and University Center Road will be closed for construction from Thursday, December 12, 2019 through Monday, January 20, 2020.  The courts will reopen following completion of the work on January 20.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


AET, BSB, BSE, FLN, MBT, SAL and SRL – RO/DI Water Systems Outage Dec 18 – 20

The reverse osmosis (RO) and de-ionized (DI) water systems that service the Applied Engineering and Technology Building (AET), Biosciences Building (BSB), Biotechnology Sciences & Engineering Building (BSE), Flawn Building (FLN), Margaret Batts Tobin Laboratories (MBT), Small Animal Lab (SAL) and Science Research Laboratories (SRL) will be shut down as follows for annual sanitation and maintenance.

DBB – Natural Gas Service Outage Dec 11

CPS Energy will shut down natural gas service to the Durango Building (DBB) for thirty minutes beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, to replace the gas meter that is located on the exterior west side of the building.  The outage will only affect the Nanoelectronics Lab (DBB 3.316).   Gas service will be restored immediately following completion of the work.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


FLN Air Handler Unit #11 Outage Dec 15 – Jan 20

Air handler unit #11 located in the Flawn Building (FLN) will be shut down from December 15, 2019 through January 20, 2020, for construction work to replace the chilled water coils. During the outage, there will be no comfort cooling (air conditioning) and heating services to portions of the building. Air handler units #10 and #12 will remain operational for the duration of the project and space heaters will be available, as needed. Urgent Notice – Chemical waste line damage affects use of laboratory sinks in FLN and MS

(December 10, 2019) – FINAL UPDATE:  Repair to the damaged chemical waste line is finished. MS laboratories 3.02.14, 3.02.16, 3.02.22, and 3.02.24 can resume using their sinks.

( December 3, 2019) – UPDATE: Facilities has determined that the only laboratories affected by the damaged chemical waste line are MS 3.02.14, 3.02.16, 3.02.22, and 3.02.24. Occupants of these laboratories should refrain from using the lab sinks until further notice. All other MS and FLN occupants can use their lab sinks. We will send a final notification to MS occupants when the final repair is made.

(December 2, 2019) – A contractor working on the new ADA ramp between the Flawn Building (FLN) and Multidisciplinary Studies Building (MS) accidently damaged the chemical waste line that services these two buildings. Until further notice, FLN and MS occupants should not pour liquids down laboratory sinks. We will send a follow-up notification as soon as the line is repaired. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your support in not using the laboratory sinks until the repairs are made to the line.
