MS: Third Floor Restrooms Closed for Upgrades June 3 – August 21

The men’s (3.02.04) and women’s (3.02.02) restrooms on the third floor of the Multidisciplinary Studies (MS) building’ south side will be closed from June 3, 2019 through August 21, 2019, for upgrades. Alternate restrooms, men’s 3.02.48 and women’s 3.02.46, are located on the third floor of the building’s north side. DTC Urgent Notice: Hot Water Outage at the FS, BVB and DBB

Update 5/29/19: Hot (only) water outage at the DTC FS, BVB and DBB. The outage will affect equipment requiring hot water including comfort heating, restrooms, sinks and labs.

There is currently no hot water service available to DTC FS, BVB and DBB buildings due to a major boiler line failure. Facilities is working to get the line repaired. A follow up email will be sent once repairs have been completed and service has been restored. For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


JPL: Water to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Floors Shut Down June 4

Update 5/31/19: The following water outage scheduled for May 31, 2019, has been rescheduled.
Water to the JPL second, third and fourth floors will be shut down from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. The restrooms will reopen immediately following completion of the work or by no later than 5:00 p.m.

Water to the JPL second, third and fourth floors will be shut down from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, for plumbing modifications. The outage will affect restroom faucets and toilets, mop sinks, and drinking fountains on these floors. For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


EB: First Floor Restrooms Closed for Upgrades June 3 – July 19

The first floor men’s (1.04.24) and women’s (1.04.20) restrooms in the EB will be shut down from June 3, 2019 through July 19, 2019, for upgrades.  Alternate restroom are located on the second and third floors.  For additional information, reference the attached drawing or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

BSB: First Floor Air Handler Units Shut Down June 1

Air handler unit #75A and 75B that service the first floor of the BSB will be shut down from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, for installation of a new VAV box. There will be no ventilation, heating and air-conditioning to the first floor of the building, during the outage. For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


FLN New Flooring Installation – Corridor 3.01 May 22 – 24

Installation of new flooring in the FLN 3.01 corridor is scheduled for May 22, 2019 through May 24, 2019.  Work will performed each day between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  For additional information, reference the attached drawing or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

SU: Roundabout Construction Scheduled for May 15 – June 15

Two sections of the roundabout sidewalks located near the Fiesta Dancers sculpture on the north side of the UTSA Student Union (SU), will be closed from May 15, 2019 through June 15, 2019, for upgrades.  Two Reserved parking spaces in the TEP lot, across from the SU, will also be closed for the duration of the project. The roundabout will remain open however; work to demolish the sidewalk and pour concrete may intermittently affect vehicular traffic.   Pedestrian detour signage will be posted in and around the work area.  For additional information, reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

TEP Lot Closed May 16 – 17

A mobile crane will be set up in the TEP Lot, adjacent to the North Thermal Energy Plant, on Friday, May 17, 2019, to assist with the removal of a gearbox on one of the cooling towers.  The TEP Lot, including seven Win-Sam, seven Reserved, two Handicapped and four service vehicle (FCMS) parking spaces, will be closed from 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019, until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019.  The OIT and University vehicle parking spaces located on the northeast corner of the lot will not be affect but may have restricted access during the crane set up.  Notification signage will be posted at the entrance of the lot a few days prior to the closure.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


SEB: Removal of Tower Crane May 17 – 19

The tower crane that was temporarily set up at the Science and Engineering Building (SEB) project site will be disassembled and removed, weather permitting, between 7:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019.  Construction vehicles may affect traffic in and around the job site.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


FLN: RO Water Outage May 18

The reverse osmosis (RO) water system that services the FLN will be shut down from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, for repairs.  There will be no RO water available to the entire building, including labs, during the outage.  Service will be restored by no later than 3:00 p.m. on May 18.  For additional information, contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


SEB – Project Closures Starting May 17

A portion of the Paseo del Sur, approximately one hundred and ten parking spaces (110) at the north end of the Bauerle Road Lot 1 and the sidewalk from Bauerle Road Lot 1 to key Circle will be closed beginning May 17, 2019, for paver, roadway, parking and sidewalk work as part of the Science and Engineering Building (SEB) project.

The Bauerle Road Lot 1 parking spaces will be closed from May 17, 2019 through August 18, 2019 and a portion of the Paseo del Sur will be closed from May 20, 2019 through June 30, 2019.

The Bauerle Road Lot 1 sidewalk will be closed from June 17, 2019 through August 18, 2019.  The closures will be fenced off with chain-linked fencing and construction signage will be posted in and around the closures to assist with detours.

Main Campus: Natural Gas Shutdown for Required Testing

Natural gas to the following Main Campus buildings will be shut down, in small segments/time-frames, for testing as mandated by the State Fire Marshal between May 6, 2019 and August 1, 2019. The shutdown will affect comfort heating, domestic hot water, autoclaves, kitchen equipment using natural gas and emergency generators to these buildings/areas. The exact dates and times of each shutdown, including a Saturday, July 6, eight-hour shutdown of natural gas service to the 1604 campus buildings, will be coordinated with occupants of each building prior to shut down and testing. Only natural gas will be impacted by this testing. All other utilities including compressed gas will remain operational and available for use.
