Construction of the New Student Success Center Underway

(October 10, 2019) – Facilities started construction of the Student Success Center this summer.  The new center, designed to enhance the experience of students seeking advising services, consolidates Academic Advising into one centrally located area of the Main Campus.  Existing academic advising spaces will be repurposed.

The 30,000 square foot center will consist of forty-six modular units connected together to appear as one building.  A location south of the Graduate School and Research Building (GSR) and North Paseo Building (NPB) was selected for convenience to students due to its proximity to the north paseo and the bus loop.  The modular units are scheduled to arrive on campus in November 2019.  Facilities is coordinating with university departments to ensure UTSA and VIA bus services are not impacted by the delivery and installation of the modular units.  In addition to the center, the project will build a fire lane that connects Cook Road and Devine Avenue.

The project is expected to be completed in March 2020.
