(June 11, 2020) – During the week of April 20, amid UTSA restrictions for being on campus due to COVID-19, Facilities received an urgent request to construct protective shields for UTSA Testing Services. Some students needed CLEP/DANTES tests to enable them to graduate at the end of the spring semester. Working with the Testing Services staff and Occupational Health and Wellness office, the Facilities Operations and Maintenance team designed and built four protective clear shields for the reception area and three “L” shaped clear shields for the proctors in order for testing to start on April 29. The testing continued through May 8, with Facilities Housekeeping coming in at the end of each day to disinfect all touch points in the testing area and nearby restroom.
