(February 27, 2020) – This year the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC) celebrated the Asian Festival on Saturday, February 1, 2020.
As far as two weeks before, the Downtown Campus (DTC) Facilities team began preparations in support of the daylong event that represented a variety of Asian food vendors and a multitude of crafts and cultural activities. Facilities staff worked closely with JoAnn Andera, ITC Director of Special Events and her staff to set up the veranda, patio and Hemisfair Campus grounds for all the participates. Preparations included setting up banners, stages, tents, ticket and coupon booths, ATM machines, sinks, electrical drops and sub electrical panels throughout the entire campus.
Facilities staff, George Wurth, Jamie Chavira, Roger Pereida, Ruben Cavazos, James Roe, Matt Ruiz, Michael Tillman, Eric Fernandez, Raul Garcia, Paul Escamilla, Daniel Macias, Brian Padilla and Richard Chacon went the extra mile in providing exceptional customer service before, during and after the event. Thanks to their hard work, ITC staff and over 13,000 festival visitors enjoyed a smooth and professionally orchestrated event.
Hats off to our DTC Facilities Team for helping make this an Asian Festival to remember.
