Facilities Supports the UTSA Roadrunner Pantry

(July 10 ,2020) – Since March 10, 2020, the Facilities Events and Moving Services team has helped keep the UTSA Roadrunner Pantry stocked. Team members alternate driving from the UTSA Main Campus to the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB), where they help load thousands of pounds of food into UTSA trucks. Once the trucks are loaded, the team drives back to campus and helps the UTSA Student Union Operations staff unload and deliver the food to the pantry.

In appreciation for their support, Nikki Lee, Senior Associate Director for the Student Union submitted the team, Joe Alderete, Juan Villarreal, Eddy Baggerman, Ryan Troxell, James Villanueva, and Juan Morales, to the UTSA Staff Senate’s new #RoadrunnersOnCampus campaign for recognition. Nikki wrote the “team has had an amazing attitude in helping the cause.” Since March, this event and movers team has delivered eight deliveries weighing 41,955 pounds of food to our Roadrunner Pantry! We absolutely could NOT have ordered this food from the SAFB resource without them! I truly appreciate everything they continue to do each and every time. I can always depend on them and can be assured that when we see them at the Student Union, that it is with huge smiles – and huge hearts.”
