Main Campus: Little to No Water Pressure

Update:  July 31, 2017 @ 12:00 – Water pressure to the Main Campus has been restored.  

(July 31, 2017) – – Several buildings on the Main Campus are currently experiencing little to no water pressure. Facilities is currently addressing the issue, and we will send an update as more information becomes available.  For additional information, please contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


JPL: Natural Gas Outage Saturday Aug 12th

Natural gas service to the JPL will be shut down on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 7:00 until 5:00 p.m. for repairs related to the installation of a new gas regulator.  During this time there will be no natural gas service available for use throughout the building including restaurant equipment.   Facilities will relight gas pilots in all of the restaurants and restart the generator once work has been completed at 5:00 p.m. on Aug 12th.   For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.    

 


BSE: Domestic Water Shut Down on Aug 6th

Domestic water service to the BSE will be shut down on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in support of construction work related to the new Science and Engineering Building.   During this time there will be no water available for use in restrooms, drinking fountains, sinks and other equipment utilizing domestic water.  The service will be restored immediately following completion of the work on Aug 6th.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


BSE: Exhaust Fans Shut Down for Repairs Aug 2nd

Exhaust fans #11, 12 and 13 that service the north side of the BSE will be shut down on August 2, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for repairs to the damper assemblies.  No other utilities will be affected by this work.  The fans will be turned back on immediately following completion of work at 5:00 p.m. on Aug 2nd.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


SAWS Announces Stage 1 Drought Restrictions Effective July 14th

Update:  8/17/2017 – SAWS has approved a one-time variance to this schedule to water the east Convocation Center lawn and the area around Peace Circle/UTSA Oval on Saturday, August 26 from 7:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The City of San Antonio is now in Stage I Drought Restrictions according to the San Antonio Water System (SAWS).  Stage 1 of the city’s drought plan goes in effect when the 10-day average of the Edwards Aquifer at the J-17 monitoring well drops to 660 feet or below.

In support of water conservation and environmental stewardship, UTSA campuses will water only on Mondays before 11 a.m. or after 7 p.m.  Campuses will also be restricted from washing impervious covers, such as parking lots, driveways, streets, buildings and sidewalks and operating the sprinkler and irrigation systems on weekends.  Athletic and sports fields are considered special use areas and additional watering day variances may be requested and granted from SAWS.  Water fountains are not affected and will continue to operate as scheduled.  For additional information on UTSA’s compliance with the drought restrictions contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.  For more on SAW’s announcement or for a schedule of watering days and additional information on Stage 1 restrictions please visit:

MH: Air Handler Units Scheduled for Preventive Maintenance on July 29th and July 30th

The air handler units that service the MH will be shut down on Saturday, July 29, 2017 and Sunday, July 30, 2017 between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day for preventive maintenance.  The outages are not expected to affect weekend operations as only one unit at a time will be shut down.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


AET: Air Handler Units Scheduled for Preventive Maintenance on July 22nd and July 23rd

The air handler units that service all floors of the AET will be shut down for preventive maintenance on Saturday, July 22, 2017 and Sunday, July 23, 2017 between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day.  The outages are not expected to affect weekend operations as only one unit at a time will be shut down.    For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.


MB: Air Handler Units Shut Down for Maintenance on July 15th and July 16th

The air handler units that service all floors of the MB will be shut down on Saturday, July 15, 2017 and Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. each day for preventive maintenance.  The outages are not expected to impact weekend operations as only one unit at a time will be shut down.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.

 


AET, BSB, BSE, FLN, MBT and SRL RO/DI Water Systems Shutdown for Annual Sanitation

Update 7/20/17:  The following work has been cancelled.  It will be rescheduled at a later date.

The reverse osmosis (RO) and deionized water (DI) systems that service the AET, BSB, BSE, FLN, MBT and SRL will be shut down for annual sanitation as follows.  For additional information contact the Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.
